I’ve got no problem with brutal force, as long as it is used to protect the right things. We must protect freedom of speech at all costs. Freedom of speech must be our highest ideal. Rather than putting laws in place to protect the feelings of some, our governments should enforce the most severe punishments for those who kill or maim others simply because they don’t like their views about politics or religion. Terrorists fear terror, that is why only terror keeps them in check (Saddam Hussein understood that). If the common man is not afraid to speak, and all views can be expressed without government suppression, the best people, and those with the best arguments, will eventually become the most influential people in society.
