Mostly love Alexander’s writing. Love the line about the dead end of liberalism, but the idea of AI having anything to do with human freedom has no basis in reality. Especially via Musk, whose stated goal is to benevolently chip everyone (does it even have to physical at this point?) and be run through the x app, the one app to rule them all. Maybe I am slow, but way too jargonistically abstract for me.

IDK-as a resident of CONUS, I think Liberals prescribe "freedom" in terms of whatever is forbidden with no regard to consequences which "conservatives" may obcess about but never stop because there is nothing conservative about America tobegin with.

It was founded by bourgeosie, liberal oligarchs who rebelled against an Imperial, feudal British monarchy. It has been a top-down revolution ever since, with no where to go but "Left".

Trump is more of the same, a True Believer in the Power Mythos of the Second World War and "America's Greatest Generation", entirely nostalgia, but in the tradition of the sacredotal Founding Fathers: liberating the slaves in the Civil War and now, Trump gets to play Winston Churchill and save the Jews again.

His enitre cabinet are Zionists. Only Matt Gatez wasn't and they made short work of him. But they will fight for Pete Hegseth who is only a major and hardly qualified for Sec.of Defense. You can see what is important.

Musk, Thiel, the Swami: his entire coterie are rich oligarchs and having a wonderful time but not a deep thinker amongst them. Neither was Winston Churchill who also lost his empire. The last time anyone in America was really thinking was probably in the 1830s. After that, it's been Thurlow Weed, all the way: clever showmen.

So, Trump's future is no less predetermined than that of any American Liberal. The consequences of trying to preserve global hegemony achieved in the Second World War by "Peace thru Strength" is a prescription for victory, not peace, and the wars by which to obtain it are only things unpredictable about it.
